Here is a message from one of the school districts, Wappingers Central School District,that will be saying our “3 Holidays Announcement.”
Thursday, 5/26, at 7am at John Jay High School as we take time to honor Memorial Day and our fallen veteran heroes. Our Renaissance club has secured 450 American Flags to place around the campus just outside the building and have planned a brief ceremony to take place immediately after the students have stepped off their buses and have assembled on the lawn.
Members of the American Legion Post will be on hand to raise the flag as one of our students plays “Taps”. Once our flag has been raised, students will then sing “America”. Our ceremony will take approximately 10- 15 minutes.
