For 96+ years Aunt Alice led a life of service. She served this Nation as a research analyst in the U.S. Military Intelligence Service, served the world as a member of the Board of Directors of Bread for the World, served her faith as a nun in the Ursuline Order, and served the education community in a variety of prestigious positions in higher education. Additionally, she also wrote several books. She met with  two Popes and two presidents—President Ronald Reagan and President George H.W. Bush. She received 21 honorary doctorates in addition to the one she earned as a historian.

More importantly, she treated everyone she encountered as her own family. I am truly humbled to have known such an incredible person, let alone to have had the honor of being her grand-nephew.

Your Neighbor,

Jake
