Today I received the first part of the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards ceremonies. This morning, I went to the office of Volunteer New York! in Tarrytown. I was presented with the awesome silver medallion. Representatives from Prudential, Volunteer New York!, and the USO were present. My family came there with me. Even my 93-year-old Aunt Alice came out to support me. When we were taking pictures, I held up a sign that said, “This is dedicated to the Sacrifices of the Arciola Family.” I wanted to make sure that everyone would know the true heroes: the “Blue Star” and “Gold Star” Military Families.
