Kayleigh LaPre is the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards High School State Honoree for Rhode Island. She has collected nearly 3,000 pairs of jeans and donated them to children who live in homeless shelters around the country. She even made unwearable jeans into dog toys and gave them to animal shelters and to dogs in foster homes. She volunteers in many other ways by making hundreds of birthday cards for children in homeless shelters and Valentine’s Day cards for residents in a retirement home.
