The San Francisco Giants said the 3 Holidays Announcement on Memorial Day 2017. They played the Washington Nationals.
Members of each branch of the Armed Forces and SF Giants employees who served in the Military or who are currently in the Reserves were acknowledged. Barry Zito, who spent 15 years with the Oakland A’s and the Giants, sang. Operation Care & Comfort volunteered at AT&T Park and were recognized as a community partner. The US Air Force Band of the Golden West played. The San Jose Marines Color Guard presented the Colors. It should also be noted that thousands of people gathered for the 149th annual march and ceremony with the Presidio Veterans Program, a Giants’ partner. House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi, closed that ceremony with a quote from John F. Kennedy on what would have been his 100th birthday.
